Pursuant to the relevant legal authorities, including the Secretary of State’s broad authority to manage foreign affairs (see, e.g., 22 U.S.C. § 2656; 22 U.S.C. 2651a(a)(4)), official and personal travel of employees to countries with which the United States has no diplomatic or consular relations or where all U.S. posts have been closed may be prohibited or restricted. Employees must contact the relevant EX office to confirm whether such a policy is in place for the particular post.
